On these pages a PowerPoint icon links you to presentations about a selected
topic. If you click on the icon, you will run PowerPoint to view the presentation.
| For
PowerPoint presentations: |
| Using
Internet Explorer In Explorer, PowerPoint
will run inside the browser window.
You can switch the browser window to fill the full screen by
choosing Browse | Full screen (i.e.,
select the Browse menu; on the Browse menu, select Full
screen).
Or:
 |
You can use the full-screen button on the
Explorer toolbar to increase the size of the PowerPoint slide show so that the slides are
readable. |
 |
The full-screen button works like a toggle
switch: when it is down, you can click it again to return the Explorer window to its prior
size. |
- Once in a slide show, you can move through the slides by
pressing the Page Down and Page Up keys.
- When the slide show is over, click the left mouse button once
to return to the first slide, then click the browser's Back button to
return to the prior page.
|
| Using
Netscape communicator If you are using
Netscape communicator, the software will load the PowerPoint file into PowerPoint
itself. To do this, you will have to move through several dialog boxes:
 |
Netscape will ask you whether you wish to pick
an application to run the file, or save it to disk. Use the left button of the mouse to
choose Pick App
|
 |
At this point, the browser wants you to specify
an application that will run the file. You do not need to do this: all you need to do here
is click OK |
 |
Use this dialog box to tell Netscape to open the
file directly: choose Open it, then click OK.You will then see the file being loaded into
PowerPoint 97, which will give you the presentation in edit mode rather than slide show
view. |
You will need to run the slide show by
clicking on the slide show button in the lower left corner of the PowerPoint window.
The PowerPoint slide presentation will take up your entire screen, and most slides should
be easily visible.
- When you are finished viewing the slide show, you can close
PowerPoint or ALT+TAB back to Netscape.
