Please submit high-quality manuscripts utilizing a case-based research
methodology and exploring the evolution, current status, and future
prospects of global software outsourcing. This special issue will be
available to the international participants in the Seventh Annual Global
Smart-Sourcing Conference (http://www.outsourceglobal.org/
and then click on conference) to be held in Hyerabad, India on August
9-10, 2008.
Important
Dates
- The deadline for submission of all proposals is
May 11, 2008. These should be submitted as softcopies in ASCII
format (MS-Word is preferred). Each proposal should not exceed three
double spaced pages.
- Blind review comments on proposals will be
provided by May 25, 2008
- Completed papers will be submitted by July 31,
2008
- Blind review comments on papers will be provided
by December 15, 2001
- Three best case-based papers will be published in
Volume 10, Issue 4, "Special Issue on Global Software
Outsourcing" of the Journal of Information Technology Case and
Application Research. This special issue will be available to the
conference registrants.
- The conference presentation will be made in front
of the international conference attendees.
In case of joint authorship, at least one of the authors must attend
the conference.
Papers and proposals will be included in conference proceedings,
which will be available to the conference registrants and also made
available for sale worldwide.
These
manuscripts should attempt to address diverse issues (important questions
facing business and IS managers of vendor and client companies;
government strategists of vendor and client countries; and researchers
from industry as well as academia) including:
A. General
Comparison of different outsourcing models, Evolution of GSO
organizational structures, Evolution of GSO alliances, Comparison of IT
Infra-structural environments in GSO destinations, Comparison of Business
environments in GSO destinations, Analysis of off-shore development

Development Centers.

with outsourcing, Competitive aspects of outsourcing, and limitations
posed by a preferred vendor's list, Capabilities of some first and second
and third-tier outsourcing vendors, Critical success factors for GSO and
e-Commerce Solutions outsourcing, How to Manage an Outsourcing Alliance,
Cultural issues related to the selection of outsourcing partners, Control
issues related to outsourcing, Software Outsourcing according to the SDLC

Papers that potentially contribute to theory, based on real-world
organizational experiences in a "global context" are specially
encouraged. The goal of the Journal of Technology Case and Application
Research (JITCAR) is to publish high quality, case-based, relevant
research articles that provide practical ideas and guidelines for
business and IT practitioners, while preserving the rigor necessary to
develop and/or validate theory.
