Micro/Marketing Cluster Course
"MARKETS & MARKETING"
This cluster course is an integrated version of MKT7000
and ECN7000 designed to capitalize on opportunities for relating
these topics to each other. Both Economics and Marketing find their roots
in the study of markets. In this cluster course, we will build on
these common roots and apply economic concepts to marketing action. By
doing so, we believe that learning of both subjects will be more complete.
Coverage will include such key topics and issues as:
-
The roles of Marketing and Economics in Management.
-
The Nature of Markets
-
Competition
-
Market Definition and Segmentation
-
Product Definition and Differentiation
-
Market Research and Market Knowledge
-
Pricing
-
Channels Structures and Behaviors
-
Market Influences and Influencing Markets
-
The Economics of Markets and Marketing
-
Marketing Strategies and Programs
This cluster course is offered in the Spring by Professors Farhoud Kafi
or Lidija Polutnik and Larry Isaacson and in the Fall by Professors Kent
Jones and Larry Isaacson. We look forward to working to integrate
these streams, without sacrificing the depth and rigor of each.
