"DIRECT MARKETING and E-Commerce"
The use of e-campus in the DMEC Course

In this course we will make extensive use of the Web as a teaching/learning tool -- as it represents a good example of an "on-line transaction system".  One of the ways we will do this is through extensive use of e-campus. The course website URL -- from which you can reach e-campus --  is:

http://faculty.babson.edu/isaacson/        then click on the course or its e-campus

The course syllabus is available on the website and it will be updated frequently to reflect new developments as the semester proceeds.  So please look at it often.  (To save you money -- and to save the forests -- we have also posted a number of readings on the web-site.  You can read them there or print them on demand.)

For each class session there will be an assignment in e-campus and there will usually be related "Readings" and "Resources" as well as "Discussion" questions and "Voting" questions in e-campus. Please be sure to look for them.  They too will be frequently updated.

The e-campus web-site  is designed to make it easy to:

All course announcements will be made in e-campus and all homework will be submitted through icampus.  There will also be group workspaces within e-campus. So please let me know right away if you are having any trouble accessing this web-site.

To use the course website effectively you will need to have access  to a "modern" version of Netscape or Internet Explorer -- preferably version 4.0 or later.  Version 2.0 and some early version 3.0 browsers will not work effectively -- so please update before the course starts to avoid missing some messages or assignments.

We will also make heavy use of Babson e-mail.  So please make sure you are reading it and that your mailbox is not already overflowing.

The course casepacket will be available at the Babson bookstore.  There is an assignment for the first class -- so if you do not plan to get the material in time to prepare, please call Marcia Cole at 781-239-6103  or cal me at x4254 and we will send you a copy of the case for the first class.

If you have any other questions about this, please call me at x4254.

Thanks.
