Kate McKone-Sweet is an associate professor at Babson College in Wellesley,
MA, and holds the Shawmut Design and Construction Term Chair.
. She is the
author of publications that have appeared in both academic and practitioner
journals such as Journal of Operations Management, Production
Operations Management, European Journal of Operations Research
and Supply Chain Management Review. Most of her research has focused
on world class manufacturing programs-- TPM, TQM, and JIT--and their impact
on performance. However, her recent research considers supply and demand
chain management issues. Her research has involved work with Solectron, Rosemount,
Exxon, Du Pont, and Eastman Chemical. Prior to her academic career,
Kate worked at Procter and Gamble.
Prior to joining Babson, Dr. McKone-Sweet was on the faculty at the University of Minnesota where she taught at the M.B.A and Executive. levels. Prior to returning to academics, she was a manufacturing management at Procter and Gamble. She received her B.S. and M.Eng. at Cornell University and her MBA and Ph.D. at Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.
